Hi Heather,

We're pleased to announce a new enhancement to eNudge Action Responders, giving you greater flexibility when managing event invitations and other response-based communications.

What's an Action Responder?

An Action Responder is a specialised type of eNudge Message Series that automatically sends emails based on a contact's individual trigger date and their response to two predefined options.

For example, when inviting contacts to an event, you might offer the choices 'Accept' or 'Decline'. Your campaign can then be configured to send different follow-up communications depending on whether the contact has accepted, declined or not yet responded.

Action Responders are particularly useful for event invitations, registrations, reminders and other communications requiring a response.

New Feature: Manually Update a Contact's Response

Previously, a contact's response was recorded when they clicked one of the available options in the email. However, contacts do not always respond through the original email. They may telephone, reply directly to your email or communicate their decision in person.

You can now manually record or change a contact's response within the Action Responder Message Series. For example:

You send an event invitation offering Accept and Decline options.
A contact telephones to confirm they will attend, rather than clicking Accept in the email.
You locate that contact within the Action Responder Message Series and manually change their recorded response to Accept.
eNudge then uses the updated response when determining which subsequent messages are applicable to that contact.

The same functionality can be used if a contact changes their mind. For example, someone who previously accepted an invitation may later telephone to decline. You can update their recorded response accordingly.

This eliminates the need to ask contacts to return to the original email simply to register or change their decision.

The enhancement is useful for the following reasons:

Accurate response records: Keep contact responses up to date, regardless of whether they respond through email, telephone or another channel.
Relevant follow-up communications: Ensure subsequent automated messages are based on the contact's current recorded response.
Greater administrative control: Correct or update responses without requiring further action from the contact.
Simplified event management: Maintain a more accurate record of acceptances, declines and outstanding responses.

While Action Responders are ideal for managing event communications, they can also be used wherever you need contacts to choose between two options.

Examples include invitations to participate in trial programs, expressions of interest, survey participation requests and other response-based communications.

With this latest enhancement, eNudge Action Responders now combine the convenience of automated communications with the flexibility to manage responses received outside the email system.
